This is because I'm trying to get a job ATM & must look BORING!

Weekend

Oh what a weekend. Had a great Saturday night, a lazy Sunday but feel like crap now.

Headed into town on Saturday afternoon for a quick look around. Tried to hook up with ickle_tayto but she was finished already.

I had a go at making dinner when we got back because lady_bastet was working on her dress for Dominion. Grilling rocks! I consider it cooking no matter what people say.

Then on we went to our favourite smelly haunt, Dominion. I do like the place but it whiffs a bit. Quite a turn out as well. ferrousoxide's back from the US & pretty much all the regulars were in.

Got a chance to have a chat with Ann (steam_doll), a very interesting & beautiful young lady from the US. She makes her own clothes & is into photography. Her LJ is http://www.livejournal.com/users/steam_doll. lady_bastet lent her her sewing machine a few weeks back & we've caught her once or twice before.

Otherwise, the usual copious drinking & photgraphy was done. Pics to follow.

Catch-up

I've been meaning to post for some time but I've been very busy in work.

lady_bastet's mum came back from her holidays & brought back 6 bottles of Absinthe for me! Was expecting 1 or 2 but 6. 4 are Rodnik's & 2 are Mari Mayans. All are 70% & the Rodnik's are in plastic bottles. Classy! None contain thujone AFAIK but that's ok. So I'm well stocked up for the foreseeable future.

Myself, lady_bastet, ickle_tayto & hizhnik went to see Star Wars, Revenge of the Sith yesterday. Was a bit long but intriguing nonetheless seeing Anakin turn to the Dark Side. Some nice little round ups at the end to tie in with A New Hope.

Otherwise still trying to figure out how we can buy an apartment & looking for a job.

I've updated my site in a few places. The main area of change is in the photos. All photos are hosted on photobox.ie now with links to the slideshows. This saves space on my Eircom account & smoothes out my photo sharing process.

- Home: Displays raw LiveJournal blog instead of blank
- Database: Reports are PDF instead of Access SnapShots
- Guestbook: The guestbook is directly linked from the contents

Dominion 14/05/2005 Photos

Work Away

I'm away from my job in Finglas today. Don't like being out of the office. Too much bother.

Installed Windows Media Center Edition 2005 on my PC. So far so good. I like the extra features but I'll need to buy a TV card to avail of it's full power.

Otherwise, I have some photos from last weekend's Dominion to sort out & post.

Xbox 360

The specs for the new Xbox 360 look pretty impressive. The features include:

- integrated Media Center Extender & DVD capabilities
- wireless controllers as standard
- removable hard drive
- digital audio player & camera connectivity

That's all apart from the powerful CPU & GPU.

I don't really like the look of it though; it's white & curvy. I quite like the old Xbox black (of course) though it was a little big. Maybe they'll do a special edition in black.

Not a lot going on in the land of blaquewraith (Ahh, scary place!!!). Still playing with the new Xbox. Bought a few new bits for it already.

I've been toying around with the idea of converting my desktop PC from Windows XP Pro to Media Center 2005. A few people have mentioned they have a copy I could "borrow" but I'm not too sure about that. I do have the option of purchasing it & the remote from Ebuyer & getting it shipped to my sister & then she could mail it over.

Beyond that I went to a quiet BBQ on Saturday in a friends house & we watched some DVDs.

One of these days, I'll write something profound & thought provoking on my LJ. Don't know when though.

Xbox

Despite what many will say, I bought an Xbox. I've heard all the gripes; it's Microsoft, it's just a PC, it's old, PS2 is better.

But I don't care, it's cool. Got Midnight Club 3 Dub Edition & the DVD kit with it. MC3 is fantastic, I'd nearly say it's what motivated me to buy it having played it on a friend's Xbox. The DVD kit means we can bring Tasha's DVD player over to Sandyford which frees up some space in Finglas.

Add to that the fact that I saved about EUR40 with vouchers & I think it was a good deal.

Getting gamer's thumb playing MC3 though, haven't had that in a long while.
