Took a break from town & Dominion last weekend in an effort to relax. Little did we know...
Tasha & I decided to head to Enniskerry for a look around & a walk. I brought my camera to take some snaps on the way but that was about it.
We got the bus from Sandyford to Enniskerry, had a quick look around some of the nik-nak craft shops (Enniskerry is rather small) then we headed on up the hill towards Powers Court Gardens. It didn't take too long to get to them, passing by a church & graveyard on the way (few photos taken).
Because we got there so fast & the gardens cost about EUR5 each we decided to head onto the waterfall instead figuring it was only on a little further. So off we went. And on & on & on we walked. Turns out the waterfall was another 5kms after the gardens. The first sign was about 2km along.
Along we trundled, taking the odd picture along the way & chatting about this & that. Eventually, we got there & it was EUR4.50 each in. After that walk, it should've been free! The waterfall was a further 3/4km beyond the main gate. It was very pretty & again more photos were taken but we had to leave after 30mins cause it was closing time. Doh!
So back we went along our route knowing just how long the walk was; tempted to hitch a lift; hoping in vain for a taxi. The walk one way took about 2 hours so in all we were walking about 5 hours. Still, we had a nice Italian dinner in Enniskerry & headed home.
Oh sweet bed, how I missed thee!!!
