Found out last night that some people have been using my guestbook to bad mouth other people from Dominion.
I don't know the background history of the people involved but a guestbook is not the place to air it.
I don't think any online source is a place to air these things, they should be dealt with face to face.
I've cleared the entries out anyway and hope people are more considerate in the future. It's not like my guestbook is the guestbook for all things goth in Ireland.
Far from it

Nerdy BIOS Post
Made a few modifications to my PC last night using my BIOS.
Upped my processor power by adjusting the FSB. Was running at 1.2GHz, got it to output 2.1GHz. Not over clocking or anything, just the wrong FSB value selected. Silly me!
I also flashed the BIOS to the latest version, which added the ability to boot from USB flash drives among other things.
Finally, I disabled a bunch of functions which I don't use, including COM ports, the parallel port, the game port & FireWire. Just to clean things up in Windows.

Bradford etc.
We'll be heading over to Bradford at the start of April with ickle_tayto. She has a reunion & we're joining her for the company & shopping.
The other good news is we'll be able to catch a gig while we're over there. Inkubus Sukkubus & Little Match Girl will be playing on the Saturday when ickle_tayto is at her reunion.
The other news I have is that I bought a TV card for my PC which doesn't seem to want to work. Grr!
I also got my new digital camera, a Canon PowerShot S70. 7 megapixels with a slew of features & some key improvements on my old model. Managed to sell the old one for EUR200, which offset the cost.

Photos
We brought a disposable camera into Dominion last week & I just got the photos back. They're all great shots, very candid, fun & good quality.
Seems people are a lot more comfortable taking photos with it & being taken. Makes sense though, you don't have to worry about dropping it or sitting it in a spilled drink & the flash is less intense & off-putting.
I might save my digital camera for gigs, family & special events & bring a disposable or cheap regular camera for Dominion. I can just get the negatives scanned to CD during processing.

Nerdy Post
Looks like the excellent Google Groups beta has extended the number of posts you can retrieve.
The max before was a scrappy 10 but now 100 messages are retrieved. They also added a handy switch which you can stick on the end of the feed string to limit the number of posts, e.g.
http://groups-beta.google.com/group/alt.gothic/feed/msgs.xml?num=50
News groups have some great info on them and Google Groups web interface is also pretty sharp.

New Stuff
Got lots of new stuff in the past few days.
When I got back from Tasha's last night, 3 issues of Gothic Beauty were waiting for me. I also subscribed for 4 issues to get them directly in the future.
I also bought a few CDs:
Marilyn Manson - Lest We Forget (with DVD) (original copy up for grabs)
Rammstein - Sehnsucht
Rob Zombie - Past, Present & Future (with DVD)
Screaming Banshee Aircrew - Fishnet Messiah
Within Temptation - Mother Earth
Bit of a mix there. Some metal, psychobilly & some new UK stuff.

My Cool Printer
I may have mentioned before that my mum & dad bought me an excellent Epson RX500 printer for Xmas but up until now I've only used it for the basics i.e. printing & scanning.
Last night, I tried out the negative scanning facilities on it. And I have to say, they're fantastic. You lock your film into an adaptor, launch the software and it picks out each photo and scans it in one swoop. The quality is great and better than scanned printed photos (less dust and sharper image).
Quality stuff. Lots of negatives to scan. Scanned in all Tasha's family photos before, took me 4 days.

Hellraiser DVDs
For a long while the latest Hellraiser movies (Bloodlines & Inferno) haven't been available on DVD in Region 2.
Thankfully, they appeared on Amazon UK and I ordered them post haste.
I had Bloodlines on VHS. I quiet liked it despite what some people say. It adds to the history of the Lament Configuration and introduces some interesting new Cenobites. The creation of the twins is pretty gruesome too.
Inferno was brand new to me. It kind of felt like a TV movie though, cops and robbers. The new Cenobites in it were pretty weird looking too. Some good gory sequences though like a lashing-to-death with a razor hooked cat-o-nine-tails.

What's Going On...???
Not a lot really.
Tasha and I are trying to decide what to do in relation to a house. We want to get away from living with parents. Should we rent or is it money wasted? Apartment or house? Blah blah madness.
We're also trying to decide where to head for Tasha's birthday. Our choices are, somewhere in Ireland down the country, London or somewhere else in the UK.
Have loads of stuff I want to sell too and nowhere to sell it.
What to do?
