Photo Hosting

Here's the deal. I'm trying to think of a fairer way to put the photos online. I don't want to p1ss people off which is why a number of people have asked not to put any photos of them online, which is fine. So that's the first case, total exemption, which is easy to deal with.

Next is if people aren't so sure. I've been screening the photos past a few people first before making them public. This works well but might take a lot longer if many people are screening them.

This lead me to think, if I only use iegoth to distribute the link i.e. not publish it on my site, then only the people on iegoth will know about it because the galleries on PhotoBox are unlisted.

Any thoughts, all constructive criticisms welcome.

  1. Perhaps make the posts with photo links friends only? This way, they're not in public and interested parties can still see them if they so wish.

  2. good idea
    also probably worth direct mailing people who havn't said explicit yes to appearing onsite anytime one of them is added {as most don't have time to browse all the albums of snap happy ppl like u ;p}
    not sure if i like any of the photos of me, but not sure if i have time to look through for objectionable ones ;)

  3. He has arisen from the dead, and with a good idea to boot!

    And I hardly think any of the pics of seen thus far of you are objectionable. At least not from what I remember of you 2 summers ago. :-P

  5. In all the photos I have of you, you are like a lotus blossom floating on a serene mountain lake.

    Only kidding. Seriously, if you would rather I didn't post ANY, just let me know. Or I can go down the direct emailing line which I'm leaning more towards.

  6. nah i'm not fussed but always needing time to go look at them and find/remove incrimenating ones {though if they exist the damage is done}
    {yknow me talking to jealous types S.O. as it could be mis-construed (if i'm being good) or lead to them suspecting something they otherwise wouldn't (if their S.O. is being bad)}
    ye gotta remember sometimes your shots can catch what no one notices in their drunkenness. this potential damage needs to be filtered.

    alan being more hypothetical, based on at least one friends post whitby experience

  7. I can't believe you're having such a problem with posting pictures from Dominion. I remember a time when it was NEVER like this. Strage what happens when people grow up and club regulars change hands. :)

    Here's what I do, I post all of the pictures containing people I don't know, or people that might not have given me permission to post them publically into my LJ photo hosting page. At least there, I can restrict who sees them, handle all/any complaints easy enough, and no one is the wiser.

  8. I don't think people mind photos being taken in general but I do put quite a lot online & take a lot of photos too.

    I do see a good few people with cameras in Dominion, but there's never a mention on iegoth that they're online. That's fair enough, people might only want them for themselves & friends.

    My goal is just to give Dominion a bit of visual presence on the net & maybe improve my photography. Ironic since I'm drunk most of the time & forget how my fingers work :)
